For the first time since Vault began ranking law firms based on associate surveys more than a decade ago, Baker Hostetler has been named to the list of the “20 Best Law Firms to Work For.” Associates who participated in Vault’s 2011 survey were asked to rate their firm on a 1-to-10 scale for each of several quality of life categories. The firm’s score in each category is the average of the scores its associates gave in that area.
“We are pleased to see that our ongoing efforts are having an impact,” said Executive Partner Steve Kestner. “We strive to create an environment that is supportive, challenging and rewarding for our associates. This ranking is a reflection of the confidence our associates place in Baker Hostetler to provide them with the best possible start to their legal careers.”
The firm’s new associate program includes active mentoring and feedback, the annual Associates Academy and access to frequent training opportunities.
“Our approach to associate development focuses not just on providing education and experience, but also on building strong, lasting relationships,” explained Ron Okada, Partner-in-Charge of the Chicago office and the firm’s Professional Development Partner.
