LOS ANGELES, CA, August 15, 2011—Baker Hostetler announced today that Ellen J. Shadur has joined the firm in its Los Angeles office. She joins the firm as Partner in the Employment Group focusing on Labor Relations, Employment Counseling and Compliance, Employment Litigation and Noncompete and Trade Secrets. Shadur began her career at Latham & Watkins, before joining Irell & Manella’s Labor & Employment group. Thereafter, she worked abroad in Europe, where she served as Associate General Counsel of the Saurer Group, a Swiss textile machinery manufacturing entity. In that role, she was responsible for oversight of legal matters involving U.S. subsidiaries, in addition to supporting European finance and operations.
Shadur represents private and public employers in traditional labor matters, including collective bargaining, contract grievances and unfair labor practice proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board and California’s Public Employment Relations Board. She also has extensive experience negotiating employment, separation and trade secret agreements, including the formation and acquisition of companies, and in litigation and counseling involving hiring, discipline, disability and leave issues, discrimination and harassment, wage and hour claims and protection of trade secrets. Shadur holds her J.D. from Yale Law School.
