Carbajal Receives HNBA’s Presidential Award for Exceptional Service

Natacha Carbajal, associate in the firm’s business group and deputy regional president for HNBA in the NY region, received the Hispanic National Bar Association’s (HNBA) Presidential Award for Exceptional Service at HNBA’s 36th Annual Convention, “Forging the Future Together,” held in Dallas, Texas on August 31 through September 3.

Carbajal received the unprecedented award in recognition for her work as HNBA’s National Mentoring Chairperson and as the Chairperson for the StreetLaw en Español: Understanding Foreclosures program. Carbajal was also a Presidential Pro Bono Recognition Award recipient for having contributed more than 50 hours of pro bono legal service to the Hispanic community this year. She volunteers with several non-profits and community service programs, many of which involve dedication to mentoring high school, college and law students. Additionally, Carbajal was nominated for Latina Lawyer of the Year.

“Natacha has shown true talent for cultivating future leaders in the Latino legal community,” said HNBA National President Diana Sen.

“This recognition is particularly important for the StreetLaw en Español: Understanding Foreclosures program,” Carbajal said. “It not only provides an invaluable service to the most disadvantaged in the community, but it also provides an educational and mentoring opportunity for the law students involved and the attorneys who mentor them.”

Bohorquez, Jr., HNBA 2011 Top Lawyers Under 40 and deputy regional president for HNBA in the NY region; Litigation Partner Gonzalo S. Zeballos, national member; Business Associate Jeremy A.
