Partners Mike Oxley and Elliot Feldman were featured at the “China-U.S. Investment Forum 2011, Opportunities and Challenges for Chinese Investment in the U.S.,” a special program organized by the China Society, the U.S.-China Business Council, the Center for China & Globalization and China Times, China’s national financial newspaper on October 5-6. Oxley and Feldman also assisted in planning the event.
Oxley served on an Advisory Committee with J. Stapleton Roy, former U.S. Ambassador to China, the Deans of the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies and Peking University Transnational Law School. Feldman served on the Organizing Committee with several CEOs of Chinese companies and organizations.
The Investment Forum was organized around a delegation of fifty Chinese businessmen looking to invest in the United States and was attended by over 150 people from business, government, universities and non-governmental organizations. Sessions were held in the Hart Senate Office Building, the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center.
Oxley also moderated a luncheon program featuring the Director General of the Center for China and Globalization, the Senior Vice President of the Albright Stonebridge Group and the President and CEO of ZTE North America. The following morning he hosted a breakfast for the Chinese delegates with select Members of Congress and staff. Feldman delivered a speech regarding “How to Overcome Legal, Cultural and Legal Barriers” on a panel with Dechert’s Managing Partner in Beijing and a Senior Vice President of Edelman. Read full speech
