George C. Dolatly Joins Business Group & New York Office

NEW YORK, NY – June 17, 2010 – Baker Hostetler announced today that George C. Dolatly has joined the firm as a partner in its Business Group. Mr. Dolatly, who was most recently a partner with Fulbright & Jaworski L.L.P, will be resident in the firm’s 120-attorney New York office. Baker Hostetler is widely recognized for its work on government appointed monitorships, most notably the representation of Irving Picard, the court-appointed trustee under the Securities Investor Protection Act for the liquidation of Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities LLC.

Mr. Dolatly’s practice focuses on private equity and venture capital transactions, domestic and international mergers and acquisitions, and corporate finance. He has extensive experience in all aspects of private equity, having represented private equity and venture capital funds and issuers in all stages of investments, leveraged buyouts, senior and subordinated debt financings, restructurings, joint ventures and other strategic transactions.

His broad mergers and acquisitions experience includes representation of acquirers, targets and financial advisors in public and private mergers, stock and asset purchases and going-private transactions, representation of special committees, and advice to boards of public and private companies on corporate governance and fiduciary duties issues. In addition, his corporate finance practice includes representation of both issuers and underwriters in public offerings and private placements of debt and equity securities. He also provides legal and strategic advice on commercial contracts and general corporate and securities matters.

Mr. Dolatly has advised clients in numerous industries, including healthcare, financial services, technology, telecommunications, media and entertainment, insurance, manufacturing, retail, real estate and publishing. His international experience includes transactions throughout the European Union, as well as in Canada, Hong Kong, India, Israel, Japan and Mexico.
