Gregory C. Ulmer Named Head of Baker Hostetler’s Product Liability Team

Cleveland, OH—January 14, 2011—Baker Hostetler announced that Gregory C. Ulmer has been named the national leader of its Product Liability & Toxic Tort practice team. With more than 45 attorneys, Baker Hostetler’s Product Liability & Toxic Tort practice team has extensive experience in litigating cases from manufacturing defects and product misuse to individual chemical exposure and class action claims, as well as defending mass tort cases.

“We understand that in today’s business climate nearly every matter in this area of law, regardless of size, can threaten a company’s reputation and business,” said national Executive Partner Steven Kestner. “Clients look to us because of our deep expertise as trial lawyers and the understanding of the intense scrutiny these cases bring in the court of public opinion.”

“As a leading national litigation firm, we have experience that places us among the nation’s top product liability and toxic tort firms. Greg Ulmer’s considerable litigation experience and his ability to build and work collaboratively with large trial teams make him the ideal person to lead our Product Liability & Toxic Tort team,” added W. Ray Whitman, chair of Baker Hostetler’s Litigation practice.

Ulmer brings more than 15 years of legal experience to his position. As a trial lawyer, he has represented a wide variety of clients in wrongful death, general tort litigation, premises liability, product liability, toxic tort, professional liability and commercial litigation matters. Ulmer currently manages the Texas product liability litigation and asbestos litigation for several major U.S. and international companies. He has been consistently recognized as a “Texas Super Lawyer Rising Star” by Texas Monthly magazine each year since 2004. Ulmer joined Baker Hostetler in 1999.
