Baker Hostetler New York partner Marc Hirschfield will participate as a speaker in the American Bar Association’s (ABA) Spring 2011 Conference in Boston. The three-day conference, April 14-16, is hosted by the ABA’s Business Bankruptcy Committee and will provide a variety of stimulating and cutting-edge programs for bankruptcy and business lawyers.
Hirschfield will participate in the program, “When the Music Stops: Musical Chairs and ‘Ponzi’ Scheme Avoidance Actions.” It will feature a discussion about the recent economic crisis and how it has contributed to the spectacular collapse of several prominent fraudulent investment operations. The program will also explore the surprising consequences of avoidance actions for the players in, and victims of, these Ponzi schemes.
