Kuntz Appointed to Merit Selection Panel
Dr. William F. Kuntz, II
, a Litigation partner in the New York office of Baker Hostetler, has been appointed to a Merit Selection Panel of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York to consider the re-appointment of full-time Magistrate Judge Andrew J. Peck.
Members of the Merit Selection Panel will review and consider all comments by members of the bar and the public, interview the candidates, interview selected individuals who may have actual and reliable knowledge of the incumbent's performance and report to the Magistrate Judges Committee of the Court whether it recommends Magistrate Judge Peck to an additional term of office.
Dr. Kuntz, one of the leading commercial litigation lawyers in the City of New York, has served as an Arbitrator appointed by the Southern District of New York in complex commercial and insurance actions. He is the longest standing member of the Civilian Complaint Review Board which annually reviews 5,000 allegations of misconduct filed against members of the New York City Police Department. He has also taught as an Adjunct Professor of Law at Brooklyn Law School and has taught trial advocacy courses at the Practising Law Institute where he also serves as a member of the Board of Directors. Dr. Kuntz is a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation.
