New York partner Heather McDonald, who specializes in intellectual property enforcement and anti-counterfeiting litigation, was recently invited by the New York State Bar Association's Trademark Law Committee to be a speaker at its "Hot Topics in the Fashion and Cosmetics Industries" seminar.
McDonald was a member of a panel which included Professor Guillermo Jimenez of the Fashion Institute of Technology and Barbara Colsun, Executive VP Counsel at Stuart Weitzman. As part of the discussion, McDonald described the fashion counterfeiting industry and strategies for proactively and reactively protecting fashion and also shared a number of stories of her personal experience regarding issues she has addressed over the years.
