Baker Hostetler Columbus partner Georgeann G. Peters was named Corporate Leadership Chair of the Columbus, Ohio, Go Red For Women Campaign for the second year. She is also a member of Circle of Red, a special group of women who are committed to increasing awareness about heart disease and stroke in women by making a personal financial gift to the American Heart Association.
The American Heart Association created its Go Red For Women campaign as a social initiative designed to empower women to take charge of their heart health, dispel the many myths about heart disease in women and raise awareness of heart disease as the number one killer of women.
In honor of Georgeann Peters’ commitment to the campaign, the Columbus office purchased a table for the February 24, 2011, Go Red For Women luncheon, which will be held at the Hyatt Regency in Columbus, Ohio, and a group of Baker Hostetler women lawyers will attend. On Friday, February 4, 2011, the Columbus office held a Jeans Day/Wear Red event to raise money for the American Heart Association. Ms. Peters has held meetings at the Columbus office with distinguished members of the Circle of Red group to network and brainstorm ways to raise money for the American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women Campaign.
