New York partners Irving Picard, who serves as the court-appointed trustee under SIPA in the liquidation of Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities LLC, and George Stamboulidis, co-leader of the firm's national White Collar Defense and Corporate Investigations practice and Managing Partner of Baker Hostetler's New York office, have been invited by the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) to address its 21st Annual Fraud Conference and Exhibition, to be held July 25-30, 2010, in Washington, D.C. ACFE is the world's largest anti-fraud organization and premier provider of anti-fraud training and education.
Mr. Picard, who also serves as a court-appointed trustee in securities brokerage house liquidations under SIPA, is the keynote speaker for one of only two general sessions to be held at the conference. Mr. Stamboulidis will be a member of the panel for the session, "Ethics Panel: One Chance to Do it Right." The panel will discuss the "ethical fork in the road" and how an organization can anticipate and identify these situations which place employees in a position to make potentially life changing decisions.
