The second edition of the Baker Hostetler treatise, Mergers & Acquisitions in the United States: A Practical Guide for Non-U.S. Buyers, went to press with Aspen Publishers (CCH/Wolters Kluwer) in November. The Chinese language second edition was also published and released in Beijing.
The second edition includes seven chapter updates and a new chapter by Washington, D.C., Partner Hilary Cairnie. His chapter, “Doing Business with the U.S. Government: Being Foreign Makes a Difference,” has been added to the due diligence section of the treatise. “It is especially important the foreign buyers recognize the existence of government contracts and the potential revenue that they represent, and also understand that there are many regulatory requirements associated with those kinds of contracts,” says Cairnie.
The treatise is coauthored by 27 Baker Hostetler lawyers from five of the firm’s offices.
