Snarr Conducts District of Columbia Bar's Panel on U.S. International Investment Policy

Michael Snarr, Counsel in the firm’s Washington, D.C., office and Chairman of the District of Columbia Bar Association’s International Investment and Finance Committee, moderated a panel of U.S. government speakers on the future of the United States’ International Investment Policy. Mr. Snarr steered the panel’s discussion before members of the D.C. Bar on national security reviews of foreign investments, the negotiation of new investment treaties, developments in international investment disputes, harmonization of international financial regulations and challenges to U.S. international investment policy looming on the horizon.

The panel convened on April 27, 2010, in Washington, D.C., and included Josh Kallmer, Deputy U.S. Trade Representative for Investment; Aimen Mir, Staff Chair and Director of the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States; Mark Feldman, Chief of NAFTA/CAFTA-DR Arbitration from the Office of the Legal Adviser at the U.S. State Department; and Troy Beatty, Senior Counsel from the Office of International Affairs in the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
