The News Herald reported that Baker Hostetler partner Richard Hollington’s appointment to serve the Ohio House of Representatives for the 98th District was finalized Tuesday morning by Ohio House GOP Caucus members. Hollington was sworn in to office and will serve the remainder of a two-year term that State Sen. Tim Grendell, R-Chester Township, had sought and easily won in November, but decided to finish his term in the Ohio Senate.
The 98th House District consists of Geauga County, plus Gates Mills, Highland Heights, Mayfield Village and portions of Mayfield Heights.
Hollington served in the Ohio House of Representatives from 1967 to 1970.
“After interviewing a dozen well-qualified, thoughtful applicants for this vacancy, we believe Rep. Hollington’s previous service in the legislature coupled with his private sector work experience will be best suited to work with our caucus during these challenging economic times,” said Rep. Lou Blessing, R-Cincinnati, who chaired a legislative screening panel in December.
