Robert Gebaide is a real estate lawyer with concentration in the resort, hospitality and leisure industry. Mr. Gebaide, in connection with his work with the BakerHostetler Hospitality Industry Team, has actively participated in the acquisition and development of hotels, condominium hotels, marinas and vacation ownership projects and clubs for the firm’s clients. In addition, he is a regular contributor to BakerHostetler’s HospitalityLawg, which offers commentary and opinions on hospitality industry issues, trends, challenges and news.
Mr. Gebaide’s experience includes structuring and development of planned unit developments, condominiums, condominium hotels and vacation ownership projects, as well as preparation of legal and registration documents for such projects. He also maintains an active land use practice representing clients in comprehensive plan amendment, zoning and other development proceedings before local governments in the Central Florida area.
Prior to joining BakerHostetler, Mr. Gebaide was a lawyer with the Seminole County Attorney’s Office, where he was responsible for advising the Board of County Commissioners and County staff on a variety of matters involving land use planning, development, code enforcement, building regulation and development review.
Mr. Gebaide serves on the Volunteer Initiative Board of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and as Orange County’s representative to the City of Maitland’s Community Redevelopment Agency Advisory Board. Additionally, he served on the City of Maitland’s Planning and Zoning Commission for six years and served as Chairman from January 2004 through October 2007. Mr. Gebaide is a member of the American and Florida Bar Associations.
