Sanford Invited to Participate in Society of Professional Journalists' "Centennial Celebration"
Washington, D.C., partner Bruce Sanford, who has been described by American Journalism Review as one of the most accomplished press lawyers in the nation, was invited to to be part of the Society of Professional Journalists' (SPJ) "Centennial Celebration," held April 17, 2009, at DePauw University.
Sanford, who serves as SPJ legal counsel, was a member of the panel, "Journalism in Times of Peril and Promise," which examined the past, present and future of journalism. On the panel with Sanford were Ken Paulson, Newseum president/former USA Today editor; Bob Edwards, XM Satellite Radio; Karen B. Dunlap, Poynter Institute president; Jan Schaffer, J-Lab executive director; and Suzanne McCarroll, KCNC-TV reporter.
The event also included a keynote address from veteran NBC broadcaster and anchor Jane Pauley, who was being inducted into the Indiana Journalism Hall of Fame.
