Sarah Tobin joined the Houston office of Baker Hostetler in September 2006 and practices in the Business Group, where she assists clients in a variety of commercial transactions.
Ms. Tobin advises and assists clients on a variety of day-to-day general corporate matters. Her experience includes assisting clients with entity formation, local and international joint ventures, contract disputes, equipment and supply agreements, partnership and limited liability company agreements, confidentiality agreements, distribution agreements and licensing agreements.
Ms. Tobin has worked with several oilfield services companies, including seismic data acquisition and geophysical service companies, on a variety of domestic and international contracts. Her energy-related experience includes analyzing off-shore master services agreements, performing due diligence for a joint venture project in Saudi Arabia, assistance with obtaining drilling rights and handling the negotiation of a variety of services agreements.
Ms. Tobin has also served as counsel for a wireless carrier in numerous wireless network build-outs involving wireless transmission facilities across the country.
Ms. Tobin has extensive experience in the field of commercial real estate transactions, where she has represented large healthcare companies with respect to their commercial real estate portfolios across the United States. Her experience includes assisting clients with letters of intent, sale of commercial property, foreclosures, construction agreements, non-disturbance agreements, lease negotiations and landlord-tenant and contractor disputes.
Ms. Tobin is a member of the Houston Bar Association, where she serves as a member of the Gender Fairness Committee and has volunteered for programs including Legal Lines and Lawyers in Public Schools. Ms. Tobin is also a member of the State Bar of Texas, the American Bar Association and the Houston Young Lawyer’s Association.
Ms. Tobin is a member of Women of Wardrobe, where she participates in volunteer activities with Dress for Success of Houston. She is also an active member of the Houston chapters of the Vanderbilt University and Ohio University alumni associations.
Ms. Tobin has been listed as a Texas “Super Lawyer Rising Star” by the publishers of Texas Monthly magazine.
While in law school, Ms. Tobin served as a volunteer at the Nashville Pro Bono Program and clerked at the Vanderbilt University Legal Clinic, assisting victims of domestic abuse and violence. Ms. Tobin received a certificate of specialization in Law and Business for her focus on business-related coursework.
