Sara Witt focuses her practice on commercial and employment litigation. Ms. Witt has worked on a variety of matters, including class action lawsuits, commercial and residential foreclosure actions, employment disputes, a public records case and a bankruptcy adversary proceeding to recover avoidable transfers. In connection with these cases, Ms. Witt has represented clients in federal bankruptcy proceedings and at arbitrations, conducted pre-trial fact investigation, engaged in settlement negotiations involving alleged violations of federal and state laws, conducted discovery and drafted numerous motions and memoranda for filing.
During law school, Ms. Witt served as an Associate Editor and Contributing Editor for the Case Western Reserve University Law Review. Her note, “The Status of Graduate Students and that of Medical Residents Under the National Labor Relations Act as a Starting Point for Crafting a Statutory Definition of ‘Employee,’” and her comment, “Modifying the Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act to Create a Constitutional Statutory Protection for Religious Landowners,” were published in Vol. 59 of the Law Review. Ms. Witt also participated as a member of CWRU’s National Moot Court Team, which placed third in regional competition.
Ms. Witt is a member of the American, Florida, Ohio and Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Associations.
