Scott Holbrook focuses his practice on complex business litigation, both at the trial and appellate levels. His experience includes work for public and private companies on multimillion-dollar contract, insurance, and class action defense matters.
Mr. Holbrook recently concluded work for a major financial institution in an insurance coverage dispute against one of the world’s largest reinsurance companies. Mr. Holbrook and others on the litigation team—after several years of contentious litigation in multiple jurisdictions—obtained a settlement in excess of $275 million.
Prior to joining Baker Hostetler, Mr. Holbrook served as a law clerk to the Honorable Karen Nelson Moore on the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. While in law school, Mr. Holbrook served as an editor of the Virginia Law Review and won the Bracewell & Patterson outstanding appellate advocate award in the first-year moot court competition.
Mr. Holbrook has twice been named an Ohio Super Lawyer “Rising Star” by Law & Politics. He is a member of the American, Federal, Ohio and Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Associations.
