Jay Seegers, an employment attorney in Baker Hostetler's Orlando office, recently spoke to members of the Central Florida Human Resources Association (CFHRA) at the organization's annual legal seminar. The event took place on March 17, 2009, and focused on a number of topics including the Employee Free Choice Act (EFCA), immigration, FMLA, the ADA and the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act.
Seegers' presentation, "Union Avoidance in Anticipation of EFCA," focused on how employers can prepare for changes to the organizing process should Congress pass the EFCA later this year.
CFHRA is the local Orlando-area chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), the world's largest HR organization. For more information about the seminar, please click here to visit the CFHRA website.
