Susan Whittaker Hughes concentrates her practice in the area of employee benefits and compensation. This includes working with for-profit and tax-exempt employers to design, implement, and administer health and welfare, cafeteria, retirement, and executive compensation plans. She assists employers with ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, Medicare, and Internal Revenue Code compliance issues.
Susan also monitors and advises clients on legislative and regulatory developments impacting employee benefit matters. Most recently, she has been advising clients on their expanded HIPAA privacy and security, COBRA administrative obligations under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, and health care reform issues.
