Tarsha L.T. Luke

Tarsha Luke counsels clients on a variety of intellectual property litigation and corporate matters and also represents clients in complex commercial litigation and securities enforcement.

In the area of intellectual property, Ms. Luke has assisted clients with a number of technology and privacy matters, including website compliance reviews and issues relating to user-generated content and social media. Ms. Luke has advised clients on relevant laws affecting Internet service providers and website operators, including: the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, CAN-SPAM, the Communications Decency Act and other federal and state statutes and regulations. She has worked on a number of trademark and copyright litigation matters, preparing pleadings and client memoranda and drafting licensing agreements, as well as managing complex discovery and trial preparation.

Ms. Luke is currently a member of the Baker Hostetler team assisting the SIPA Trustee with the investigation and liquidation of Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities. She has also served on teams acting as Third Party Examiner remediating various securities firms’ investments and has worked on a team that successfully represented 9-11 victims before the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority.

While in law school, Ms. Luke was a member of Georgetown’s Barristers Counsel, participating in the Appellate Division. She competed in the National Telecommunication Moot Court Competition where her team advanced to the semi-finals. Ms. Luke was also a law clerk for the Institute of Public Representation Clinic in the Communications Division. There, she worked extensively on legal and policy issues concerning the Federal Communications Commission, including Media Ownership as well as Child Obesity and Advertising.

Before beginning law school, Ms. Luke worked as a reporter and anchor for both radio and television news in North Central Florida.
