Tatiana Markel focuses her practice on bankruptcy-relatedlitigation. After joining Baker Hostetler in 2009, Ms. Markel became involved in the firm’s representation of the trustee in the liquidation of Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities LLC. She currently works with a diverse group of attorneys in investigating and litigating matters arising from Madoff’s Ponzi scheme, including bringing avoidance actions to recover assets for the fund of customer property.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Markel was an associate at another prominent law firm, where her practice focused on the areas of financial restructuring and private investment funds.
During law school, Ms. Markel was the Executive Publications Editor for the Buffalo Law Review. Ms. Markel was also the recipient of the prestigious Max Koren Award, the Judge William J. Regan Award and the Harold A. Dautsch Scholarship.
Ms. Markel is a member of the New York State Bar Association.
