Tegan Kahner works on a variety of bankruptcy and securities litigation matters, including investigations in support of the firm’s role as counsel to the court-appointed Trustee under SIPA in the liquidation of Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities LLC. In addition, Ms. Kahner assists in the pretrial preparation of intellectual property matters.
During law school, Ms. Kahner drafted judicial opinions and decisions as a law clerk at the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Administrative Law Judges in Cincinnati. In addition, she served as the Executive Editor of her school’s technology and privacy-based law journal, I/S: A Journal of Law and Policy for the Information Society. In her first year of law school, Ms. Kahner co-created the OSU Health Law Society and grew the membership by organizing large-scale professional events. She also volunteered as a Pro Bono Research Fellow, a Street Law mentor and worked at OSU’s Justice for Children Defense Clinic.
Ms. Kahner was awarded CALI Excellence for the Future Awards for coursework in Insurance Law and Evidence in Trial Practice.
Prior to law school, Ms. Kahner spent two years in Durham, North Carolina, coaching varsity tennis and teaching high school biology and anatomy/physiology to at-risk, inner-city students through the AmeriCorps program, “Teach for America.”
Ms. Kahner is a member of the American, Ohio State and Cincinnati Bar Associations, as well as the Labor/Employment and Health Law Committees of the CBA.
