New York partner Heather McDonald, who specializes in intellectual property enforcement and anti-counterfeiting litigation, was quoted in the January 11, 2010, edition of The New Yorker magazine article, "Number Nine."
The article is a profile of the newest Supreme Court Justice, Sonia Sotomayor. Prior to joining Baker Hostetler, McDonald worked with Sotomayor on anticounterfeiting legislation that became part of the New York state penal code. McDonald recalled that various key provisions ended up being neutered by political horse-trading in Albany. "Sonia, more than the rest of us, was frustrated with the law we ended up with, because, frankly, it wasn't that easy to prosecute a case under," McDonald said.Click to read the full article from The New Yorker website.
