Washington, DC Office Expands: Three Join Antitrust & Trade Regulation Practice
WASHINGTON, DC – May 18, 2010 – Baker Hostetler announced today that John (“Jack”) Fornaciari has joined as a Partner in its Antitrust and Trade Regulation practice. Mr. Fornaciari, who was recently a partner with Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP, will be resident in Baker Hostetler’s Washington, D.C., office.
Mr. Fornaciari’s experience includes the trial of complex antitrust and white collar matters, including RICO claims, freeze-out mergers, and claims of breach of duty, conspiracy, mail fraud and wire fraud. He is currently representing defendants in three cartel cases. A significant component of Mr. Fornaciari’s practice involves obtaining merger clearance before the Antitrust Division of the Department of Justice, the Federal Trade Commission and other regulatory agencies. He also has designed and implemented antitrust and FCPA compliance programs for companies in the United States and abroad. In addition, Jack’s practice includes malpractice defense and general commercial litigation.
“We are pleased to welcome Jack to Baker Hostetler and the Antitrust and Trade Regulation team,” said Jeffrey Paravano, Managing Partner of the firm’s Washington, D.C., office. “His addition is part of the firm’s ongoing commitment to measured growth in key practice areas, with a focus on delivering consistent and outstanding client service.”
“We are fortunate to have such an outstanding attorney join our group, which routinely represents clients in government antitrust investigations, litigation and consumer protection actions initiated by the Justice Department, the Federal Trade Commission, and state attorneys general,” said Ray Whitman, Chair of Baker Hostetler’s national Litigation Group. “Jack can offer a depth of experience and knowledge, especially with regard to working with government agencies, that will be invaluable to clients in both antitrust and white collar matters.”
Also joining the firm’s Antitrust and Trade Regulation practice are Robert M. Disch as Of Counsel and Jeremy M. Keim as an Associate. Mr. Disch, who has been in private practice in Washington, D.C., for almost 29 years, has represented clients in state and federal civil and criminal antitrust investigations, private treble damage antitrust actions and other commercial litigation and white collar criminal defense matters.
