James Ollinger is the senior member of the firm’s Employee Benefits Practice Team. He has more than 40 years of experience in this field and handles all types of employee benefit matters.
Mr. Ollinger has extensive experience with all forms of retirement plans, savings plans, welfare plans, health plans, executive compensation, incentive programs, stock plans and insurance arrangements. He has provided legal advice for many of the firm’s larger clients, including tax-exempt organizations.
Mr. Ollinger has dealt extensively with all governmental agencies regulating employee benefits and executive compensation, including the Internal Revenue Service, the U.S. Department of Labor, the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation and the Securities and Exchange Commission.
His experience as an employee benefits lawyer includes labor negotiations, bankruptcy proceedings and litigation/arbitration disputes. He regularly provides counsel regarding funding vehicles and investments for large retirement trusts and has in-depth knowledge of all aspects of Taft-Hartley and multiemployer pension and welfare plans.
Mr. Ollinger provides general oversight for Baker Hostetler’s various internal retirement plans and other benefit programs. He has extensive practical experience with retirement plan investment matters and financial issues involving health, life and disability insurance plans.
Mr. Ollinger is a member of the American, Ohio and Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Associations. He has written extensively on numerous employee benefit subjects and has lectured frequently throughout the United States on these topics.
