As a member of the Digital Assets and Data Management Group, Alyssa Daniels focuses on creating strong relationships with clients to prepare for and respond to privacy and data security incidents. She has counseled clients on a wide array of incidents ranging from sophisticated ransomware attacks to employee theft.
Immediately following the discovery of a potential security incident, Alyssa tailors an approach to meet the unique needs of each client, working with them to understand what happened and create a response strategy. She coordinates digital forensic investigations, determines breach notification obligations, builds an effective communication strategy designed to preserve relationships with important stakeholders and oversees implementation of restoration efforts. Alyssa has handled security incidents for clients that span a variety of industries, including educational institutions, manufacturing companies and insurance agencies.
A Certified Information Privacy Professional in the United States (CIPP/US), Alyssa assists clients in understanding the wide range of privacy laws that could impact their handling of data, including data breach laws in each of the 50 states, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), and other privacy and data protection laws and regulations.
