WASHINGTON, Oct. 13, 2021 – BakerHostetler is pleased to announce that the firm’s Litigation, Digital Assets and Data Management (DADM) and Labor and Employment practice groups were recognized in BTI’s Litigation Outlook 2022 and Most Feared in Litigation Report. Compiled by BTI Consulting Group, Inc., the report highlights the law firms that clients do not want to see as an opponent. Firms named in this report are well-known as bold, powerful, relentless and strategic.
Digital Assets and Data Management
BakerHostetler’s DADM practice group was named a Powerhouse for Cybersecurity Litigation, placing it among the top 1% in the legal industry.
“We are winning cases and making new law every day in some of the largest cybersecurity litigation matters to date,” said Ted Kobus, BakerHostetler’s DADM practice group chair.
BakerHostetler was one of only three firms to be named a Cybersecurity Litigation powerhouse.
“Top legal decision makers again name BakerHostetler a Litigation Powerhouse in Data Privacy/Cybersecurity,” says Michael B. Rynowecer, president of the BTI Consulting Group and director of the survey. “These clients talk about the firm's sophistication and savvy in anticipating and dealing with these issues.”
Litigation
The firm’s national Litigation practice group was named an Intimidating Opponent, one of only 23 firms to be recognized in this category.
Not only did the practice group earn high praise from BTI, but individual practice group teams were commended as well. BakerHostetler was recognized as a Litigation Standout for Product Liability Litigation and Complex Commercial Litigation. Firms ranked in these categories are in the top 10% and 14% of all firms, respectively.
“We successfully handle bet the company cases on a regular basis, so it’s nice to see legal decision makers recognize BakerHostetler’s litigation prowess,” said Ray Whitman, chair of BakerHostetler’s national Litigation practice group. “As we continue to strengthen our deep bench of trial lawyers, we look forward to remaining one of the most feared law firms in the courtroom.”
Labor and Employment
Additionally, BTI recognized BakerHostetler’s Labor and Employment practice group as a Litigation Standout for Complex Employment Litigation. Only 8% of firms, nationwide, are recognized as a Complex Employment Litigation Standout.
“As the number of employment class actions has exploded in the last decade, we expanded our practice, remained on top of the issues facing our clients in these cases and helped them present strategic defenses,” said Labor and Employment practice group chair Amy Traub. “It is gratifying to see our work acknowledged and a testament to the hard work of our lawyers.”
BTI Litigation Outlook 2022 is based solely on in-depth telephone interviews with leading legal decision makers for litigation services between March 10, 2021 and Sept. 16, 2021. This comprehensive analysis trends data from more than 20,000 corporate counsel client interviews conducted over the span of 20 years.
