Overview

Courtney Brooks is no stranger to the high-stakes nature of litigation. A member of the BakerHostetler team representing Trustee Irving H. Picard for the SIPA liquidation of Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities LLC, an unprecedented recovery effort involving hundreds of actions, Courtney honed her skills while serving as counsel for large financial institutions and prominent collection firms. She also previously led her own private litigation practice, helping both big and small clients find closure to their disputes.

Experience

  • Member of a team that represented medical device, pharmaceutical and other manufacturers on a local and national level in product liability complex litigation, defending claims pertaining to antidepressants and hormone replacement drugs.
  • Selected to perform primary and quality control-level reviews in various complex litigation cases, including financial, intellectual property and qui tam.
  • Led private practice focused on general litigation, creditors’ rights, foreclosures and more. Served as counsel for three large collection firms.
