Daniel Kaufman Interviewed on Questionable Advertising

News / June 14, 2022

On June 14, 2022, Partner Daniel Kaufman was quoted in an ABC News story titled, “Prolific ads featuring right-wing icons push questionable claims about US ‘crime wave.’” The story concerns an anti-fraud service called Home Title Lock, which features well-known conservative figures in ads that Kaufman calls problematic.

Some Home Title Lock ads speak of a massive crime wave in home title theft and say that the FBI describes it as one of the fastest-growing crimes in the U.S., which representatives of the FBI dispute, according to the article. Kaufman is quoted as saying that it is Home Title Lock’s “burden to make sure that what they’re presenting to the public to encourage people to buy their product is truthful and accurate.”

Kaufman was also interviewed on this topic for a segment of Good Morning America that aired June 14.
