Overview

Duane Carver focuses his practice on constructing and prosecuting various patent applications, with an emphasis on technology patents related to computer engineering and software. He has significant experience with the preparation of patents pertaining to user interfaces, software programming, networking, semiconductor and integrated circuits, optical systems, medical devices, mobile devices, databases, open-source hardware and software development and internetworking devices, artificial intelligence, machine learning and financial services applications (e.g., security and fraud detection). In addition to patent prosecution, Duane also has experience with portfolio management (domestic and international), patent due diligence and litigation support.

Prior to attending law school, Duane served as a lead software engineer for an American multinational financial services corporation, where he led teams of domestic and international engineers in developing financial software systems for Fortune 500 companies, created a proprietary unit-testing platform and helped grassroots engineering teams improve engineering quality throughout the organization.
