Geraldine Asher handles general and complex commercial matters for clients in a variety of industries. Comfortable in all areas of litigation, including drafting and responding to pleadings, taking and defending depositions and drafting and arguing dispositive motions, she also prepares and negotiates transactional business agreements for clients.

Geraldine's experience as a law clerk in the Fifth District Court of Appeal and a judicial extern in the Florida Supreme Court provides her with valuable insights that she can utilize when determining the most efficient and effective solutions to help clients reach their business objectives.

  • Served as primary drafter of appellate brief to the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, resulting in a favorable written opinion regarding the interpretation of a federal statute, the Graves Amendment. Thayer v. Randy Marion Chevrolet Buick Cadillac, LLC, 30 F.4th 1290 (11th Cir. 2022).
  • Served as primary drafter of appellate brief on behalf of a master association and a country club on issues pertaining to the association’s governing documents, resulting in affirmance of a final judgment in favor of the association and club as well as attorneys’ fees. Good Old Days Investments, LLC v. Boca West Country Club, Inc., et al., No. 21-1391 (Fla. 4th DCA July 14, 2022).

  • Secured a dismissal with prejudice and sanctions order on behalf of an Ohio law firm and the firm’s attorneys in a case alleging fraud on the court.
  • Assisted with obtaining a dismissal on behalf of a California-based member of the entertainment industry.
  • Litigated state and federal general and complex commercial cases valued from $100,000 to more than $80 million.
  • Experienced in all areas of litigation responsibilities, including drafting and responding to pleadings and written discovery, taking and defending depositions, overseeing e-discovery protocol and productions for cases with over two million documents, drafting and arguing dispositive motions, handling mediations and drafting class action settlement documents.
  • Drafted briefs in state and federal appellate cases, including answer briefs, petitions for and responses to petitions for extraordinary writs, and jurisdictional briefs.
  • Prepared and negotiated transactional business agreements, including company purchase agreements, assignments and assumptions of interest.
