Overview

With a depth of experience in the transaction arena, Henry Montgomery represents clients in their business endeavors, concentrating on acquisitions and divestitures, while also advising clients through debt financing, joint venture and private equity transactions. Having spent much of his early career assisting clients in bankruptcy-related matters, Henry brings substantial Chapter 11 case experience to his practice, which he applies when advising clients on acquiring distressed companies. Henry’s client-focused approach helps clients create structures and facilitate deals that achieve their business objectives.

Henry served as coordinator of the firm’s Columbus office’s Business group for approximately 10 years and currently serves as a Legal Opinion Review partner. He has been named in The Best Lawyers in America in the area of banking and finance law.

  • Constructed joint ventures between businesses and private equity investors involving contributions of business assets and private equity capital. 
  • Represented a private equity real estate fund from initial fund investments through negotiation of mezzanine financing facilities and acquisition of real estate assets, including hotel, multifamily and commercial properties. 
  • Facilitated acquisition and disposition of distressed companies and business assets through Section 363 sales in Chapter 11 cases. Has performed numerous and significant transactions across a wide range of industries.
