Overview

As a commercial litigator, Jeffrey Zohn represents plaintiffs and defendants in federal and state courts and arbitration proceedings. He has been involved in all aspects of litigation, from drafting complaints to preparing and examining fact and expert witnesses for depositions and trials. His experience extends to a variety of matters, including class actions, product liability, breach of contract, intellectual property, trade secrets, antitrust and competition law, Fair Credit Reporting Act and Federal Tort Claims Act.

Jeff approaches his cases in much the same way as he approached his students and players when he was an award winning high school teacher and coach with Teach For America. He assess his clients' needs and specific goals, then comes up with a detailed yet flexible plan to achieve the most favorable outcomes.

Experience

  • Constructed legal strategy and wrote successful Rule 59 Motion To Alter Or Amend Judgment that overturned dismissal of client’s pro se complaint.
  • Drafted Motion To Dismiss For Lack Of Personal Jurisdiction on behalf of global manufacturing client. After conducting jurisdictional discovery, the judge granted the motion with prejudice.
  • Recovered over $13 million for client as lead associate in multi-day arbitration before international arbitral tribunal.
  • Responded to federal and state government civil investigative demands alleging client improperly conspired to fix prices.
  • Negotiated favorable settlements and obtained complete dismissals for over 30 Fair Credit Reporting Act cases in federal courts throughout the country.
  • Secured complete defense verdict on behalf of two prosecutors in a high-profile civil rights case before a federal jury.
  • Successfully drafted and responded to dozens of dispositive motions.
  • Represent multiple companies in class action alleging violations of the California Invasion of Privacy Act.
