Jiajia Janie Cai, Ph.D, prepares and prosecutes patent applications, the formulation of invalidity, noninfringement, freedom-to-operate, clearance and patentability opinions, as well as provides litigation document review support. Her technical background includes organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, chemical process, polymer chemistry, material science, petroleum chemistry and nanotechnology.

Janie's significant experience includes 11 years in chemical synthesis, including pharmaceutical chemical synthesis, catalyst synthesis and petroleum chemical synthesis; six years in pharmaceutical chemical studies, including anion binding receptors in transporting anions across cell membranes; and six years in petroleum chemical studies, including the application of oilfield chemicals and nanotechnology for enhanced oil recovery, hydraulic fracturing and flow assurance.
