Overview

John Harrelson focuses his practice on patent prosecution and client counseling in the fields of chemistry and biochemistry. John considers the development of a company's intellectual property to be an essential element of its global business strategy. John developed an intimate understanding of a company's business as an in-house intellectual property manager at DuPont. At DuPont, John worked with the leadership of the legal, business and R&D segments to develop intellectual property strategies for major business units. He also worked as a senior research chemist, developing new fiber-related products from the initial laboratory research stage to the commercial scale-up.

John holds a doctorate in chemistry from Duke University and maintains an active academic interest in the subject, having published 15 articles for scientific publications, including several for the Journal of the American Chemical Society and the Journal of Organic Chemistry.
