Joy Johns focuses her practice on the intersection of technology and risk. She has extensive experience counseling clients on risk mitigation related to cybersecurity and privacy in addition to digital applications and platforms, with emphasis on those connected to contingent workers. Joy supports and advises clients through data security incidents and regulatory investigations. She uses her experience in these matters to advise clients on prevention and preparedness. Joy has worked with clients in numerous industries, including gig economy, autonomous vehicles, retail, manufacturing and transportation.
Joy's practice is supported by her considerable trial experience, enabling her to effectively communicate to clients the practical implications of legislative and regulatory changes from a 30,000 ft. view. Having worked as outside counsel at law firms and as in-house counsel at Uber, Joy is able to provide clients with a complete assessment of their technology and data privacy-related matters.
As gig economy rules and regulations are constantly evolving, Joy has supported and advised clients regarding the practical execution of contingent worker digital platforms and applications.
