Michael Holt is a nationally-recognized attorney and corporate executive in antitrust, compliance and maritime law. Having spent over two decades serving as in-house counsel and in other high-level positions for various international shipping corporations, he has a thorough knowledge of relevant corporate, employment, and transportation law. Michael primarily works with clients to develop compliance programs and crisis management plans, preparing clients for potential Department of Justice investigations.
Michael also advises on the design and implementation of insurance programs and company codes of ethics. During his time at NYK Group Americas, Inc. (NGA), his ethics and compliance initiatives earned the company four consecutive rankings as one of the "World's Most Ethical Companies," from the Ethisphere Institute, the global leader in defining and advancing standards of ethical business practices and corporate character. Following his tenure at NGA, he went on to work for TOTE, Inc., the owner of Jones Act vessels, creating and implementing their ethics and compliance programs, and subsequently achieving the "World's Most Ethical Companies" distinction on behalf of the company.
