Select Experience

  • As a member of BakerHostetler's team of court-appointed counsel to the Securities Investor Protection Act (SIPA) Trustee for the liquidation of Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities LLC, works on the SIPA Trustee's litigations against feeder funds and other related entities.
  • Participated in the defense of a multinational food and beverage company in a breach of contract action involving a multimillion-dollar procurement agreement. Managed case discovery and prepared the brief to dismiss the action filed in the U.S. District Court of New Jersey.
  • While working on a pharmaceutical defense case involving a top-selling over-the-counter drug, completed a full spectrum of case work, including drafting the answer, positioning the case for trial, researching the appropriate use of the drug and analyzing the plaintiff's injuries. Tested a theory that the drug was misused by taking a tactical approach to the plaintiff's depositions and by having the plaintiff demonstrate on video how the drug was used. The theory proved correct when the plaintiff's demonstration evidenced a clear misuse of the product and failure to heed the product warnings or instructions, which resulted in a favorable settlement for the client.

Interviewed clients in widely varying locations, helped lead the defensive discovery effort and responded to document requests.
