Overview

Maurice Valla focuses his practice on patent procurement and portfolio management in the life science fields, including pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and medical devices. He also frequently handles the IP portion of due diligence and product clearance assessments. With his broad medical training and breadth of experience, Maurice is equipped to handle virtually any matter that falls into these technology categories, from contrast agents for medical imaging to small-molecule, protein and cell-based therapeutics, and drug delivery technologies. In addition, Maurice has now developed a considerable background in post-issuance proceedings before the USPTO, including interference, reissue and re-examination practice.

Prior to becoming an attorney, Maurice was a practicing equine veterinarian working at one of the premier racetrack practices in the country.
