Webinar: The EU's New Standard Contractual Clauses: Key Requirements & Practical Guidance

Events / Tuesday, September 21, 2021
1 p.m. ET

As of September 27, 2021, the 2004 and 2010 versions of the European Union’s Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) will officially be retired. Businesses seeking to use SCCs to cover new transfers of EU personal data will need to implement the updated SCCs released by the EU Commission in June. Also, companies with existing contracts that rely on the outdated SCCs will need to transition to the new SCCs before the end of 2022.

Although the new SCCs address certain practical issues associated with the old versions, they also introduce more burdensome compliance obligations on businesses. Join us via Zoom on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 for our webinar offering practical guidance to help companies understand the new requirements and navigate the transition process. The session will include discussion of:

  • Steps you can take now to prepare to meet the new requirements
  • Strategies for coordinating the implementation of new SCCs
  • Operationalizing new obligations, such as transfer impact assessments and restrictions on responding to public authority requests
  • Completing the required security annex in the new SCCs
  • Preparing to respond to inquiries from regulators and business partners
