Overview

Ted Gelt provides innovative guidance in the primary areas of taxation for both individuals and corporate entities. Through the use of various models of combinations of business entities, Ted enables clients to operate their businesses in the most tax-efficient manner. Because of his high level of experience in the field of taxation, as well as his ability to integrate clients' income tax and estate planning needs, Ted is able to provide the coordinated, sophisticated advice and counsel needed to navigate the complex and changing maze created by tax laws, regulations and court decisions.

Ted is listed in The Best Lawyers in America© and The National Registry of Who's Who, and locally has received 5280 and ColoradoBiz Magazine's 2010 Wealth Manager Five Star rating. He was named a Best Lawyers® 2013 Denver "Lawyer of the Year" in Litigation and Controversy – Tax.   • Negotiated with the IRS on behalf of client in a complex criminal tax matter. Ultimate result was one misdemeanor rather than seven potential felonies. 
  • Provided counsel and expert testimony for defense of tax and estate planning attorney alleged to have committed malpractice in very sophisticated tax planning matter.
