Experience

  • Worked closely with and supported business unit leaders, including supply chain, technology, compliance, and local hospital teams in negotiating and implementing strategic business ventures.
  • Developed and implemented a standard contracting review process including preparing contract templates and managing policies and procedures to ensure consistency across company entities, saving the legal department almost $5 million in outside counsel fees in less than two years.
  • Provided legal advice on health care and non-health care transactional, regulatory, administrative, compliance and non-profit matters to a diverse array of individual and institutional clients, including health systems, educational institutions, and privacy equity firms, among others.
  • Conducted legal research on a wide range of federal and state laws and regulations, including HIPAA, Stark Law, federal and state anti-kickback statutes, and non-profit laws.
  • Counseled health care and corporate clients on business transactions, such as mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, reorganizations and other commercial transactions.
  • Conducted due diligence for transactions, and negotiated and drafted various deal documents at all stages of a transaction.
  • Assisted clients with licensure, accreditation, Medicare and Medicaid compliance, including enrollment and changes of ownership, and other complex legal and regulatory requirements.
