Yuqi Li's growing Intellectual Property practice focuses mainly on patent prosecution, client counseling and portfolio development, and patentability analysis investigations in the chemical and pharmaceutical sectors. As the holder of patents in chemistry herself, Yuqi has first-hand knowledge of all stages of the patent process. Yuqi draws from her extensive research experience as a synthetic chemist and her multidisciplinary scientific expertise to assist clients in protecting and managing their intellectual property.
Intellectual Property Technology
- Drafted and prosecuted domestic U.S., Patent Cooperation Treaty, and International patent applications in the chemical, pharmaceutical, and life sciences arts.
- Drafted responses for patent application office actions from the USPTO and International jurisdictions covering a range of rejections.
Research
- Synthesized and analyzed organic and organometallic precursors for semiconductor processes, evaluated their deposition properties for thin films by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) and scaled up synthetic procedures to manufacture chemical precursors for semiconductor manufacturers.
- Studied biotechnology applications of enzymes and enzyme models. Synthesized heme-copper/O2 adducts and conducted kinetic and reactivity studies to provide insight into the mechanism of oxygen bond cleavage as a model for the cytochrome c oxidase enzyme.
- Led global cross-functional teams, collaborated with external customers to deliver products, supervised technicians and provided technical service to customers.
- Synthesized and purified polypeptides and hydrogels that mimic extracellular matrices, then investigated stem cell activities in response to hydrogels including cell differentiation in guiding formation of osteoblasts; conducted protein and cell reactivity studies; determine G’ values of hydrogels composed of oppositely charged peptides.
