Women's Wear Daily: Enter the Blonde Lady

News / April 25, 2011

Women’s Wear Daily published a profile of New York partner Heather McDonald entitled, “Enter the Blonde Lady,” on April 25, 2011, that highlighted her 25-year career as a premiere anticounterfeiting lawyer.

With quotes from clients including True Religion Blue Jeans and Stuart Weitzman, the profile talks about the 600+ seizures she has run in an effort to rid New York streets of counterfeit goods, as well as other career highlights.

Beyond her work on seizures in Chinatown, McDonald is known for enacting some of the state’s first anticounterfeiting laws, along with then attorney Sonia Sotomayor and Chanel lawyer Veronica Hrdy, who is now the brand’s vice president and general counsel. Together they lobbied the state legislature to adopt a trademark counterfeiting law, which was passed in 1991.
