Barron Avery Article Examines Mandated Sick Leave for Federal Contractors

Counsel Barron Avery co-authored an article published in the May 9, 2016, issue of the Westlaw Journal Government Contract newsletter. The article, “Calling in Sick? New Regulations Govern Sick Days for Government Contractors,” examines the Department of Labor’s proposed rule that would require certain federal contractors to provide prescribed amounts of sick leave to the their employees. Avery concludes:

Although they do not extend to all contractors, the new regulations will reach a large segment of the federal contracting industry. Companies that will be affected should take proactive steps to address the upcoming requirements.
