Partner Bill Pence co-authored an article published in the Spring 2017 issue of Natural Resources & Environment, the quarterly magazine of the ABA Section of Environment, Energy & Resources. The article, “The ‘CSI’ in Environmental Forensics: Using Compound-Specific Isotope Analysis in Legal Matters,” discusses how compound specific isotope analysis (CSIA) may provide a valuable tool for the resolution of disputes at sites with multiple groundwater contaminant sources. The article also describes how CSIA may be used to provide direct evidence of the biodegradation or natural attenuation of contaminants to demonstrate the success of remedial action at certain contaminated sites.
