Partner Carl Hittinger and Counsel Tyson Herrold weighed the significance of a recent ruling that effects universities’ financial aid systems in an article published by The Legal Intelligencer on Oct. 10, 2022. The article, “Federal Court Decision A Reminder Antitrust Laws Apply to Higher Education,” examined the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois’ determination that the “568 Exemption,” on which many universities’ financial aid systems are based, does not provide antitrust immunity unless all participating universities admit their students on a need-blind basis.
