Daniel Birnbaum, Darren Crook Author Article Examining New Silica Standards from OSHA

Associates Daniel Birnbaum and Darren Crook authored an article published in the May 2016 issue of OOGA Bulletin. The article, “OSHA Announces Significant Changes to Silica Rules that are Among the Broadest Ever Issued,” analyzes the impact of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) final rule intended to limit workers’ exposure to the carcinogen silica. Specifically, Birnbaum and Crook note that “oil and gas employers will have to implement new procedures to reduce worker exposure to silica dust” and they list procedures that can be implemented to avoid potential OSHA citations.
